Twisted4000's News

Posted by Twisted4000 - September 2nd, 2016

Ahoy. It's hard to believe that it's been over 9 months since my last post here. Crazy. Time just flew by this year. Well, I'm basically just here to say that I've been very good as of late; still working on the game, progress is good. Working on two animations, progress is good on both, one more so than the other. Working on the novel, at chapter 20 right now. Almost done. Working on a fairly-large commission on top of it all, and hopefully I'll be done on that sooner than later so I can start releasing this stuff sooner than later.

I've been streaming like crazy on my YouTube channel lately. I'd say on average it's been like two hours every three days or so. I've been having loads of fun with them and it's been great interacting with almost all of the audience involved, but you know how too much of a good thing goes... so I might be limiting them to once a week at this point, just in case. If you're interested and want to know when I stream, it's pretty spontaneous as of now, but again, I'll probably have a schedule for it soon.

It's crazy how long it's been since I've released a cartoon, though; the last one I published was Office Language nearly eleven months ago. This once-a-year cartoon-releasing habit I've adopted hasn't been so nice, but I'm hoping that changes really soon. I want to make a video for Thanksgiving just to help hold people over for the next few big projects I get around to releasing... but then again I've been SEVERELY debating it for many reasons, and if it does actually come out... well... you'll see as to why that is.

I've been drawing as usual, and though I've been pretty slow on releasing drawings, I've still been practicing a lot, as always. Recently I released a speed painting video on this succubus drawing right here. I plan to do more speed paintings as time goes on, just as another form of content to upload to my channel, blah blah blah.

In case you didn't know, I'm currently back in Colorado, for those that remembered me moving somewhere else temporarliy. Recently I've been feeling pretty great, better than I've been in years; I got this new AMAZINGLY awesome job that I'm just in love with, the weather's nice, the projects are all going great, I have some awesome friends to talk to and games to play... I just don't know, I feel good. It's been pretty fantastic, and lots of things that used to bother me barely do at all anymore. I'm just feeling generally pretty good. Sure, it may be a phase, but I wanna enjoy the ride while it still lasts.

What sucks though is that, due to moving, some hardware and items I've had got damaged. Unfortunately this is just an inherited issue when it comes to moving stuff around, and sadly that's where more money will have to get drained into. Fantastic. But you can't shake me down; I'M FUCKIN' BULLETPROOF. Not bombproof, though.

That's that, see ya at the end of the year with my year-in-review!

The year is drawing to a close, huh? The man-invented division of the man-invented concept of time is coming close to counting up the imaginary "year" counter one more number. Remind me why we're supposed to celebrate this, again?

Well, either way, let us utilize this moment to look back on everything I've been up to these last ~362 days, shall we? It sadly has been a slow year for me; I've only managed to publish one cartoon, Office Language, which is significantly less than the 3-4 I tend to upload per year on average. However, this year has been anything but slow in the vicinity of progress; I've still been working on the game I've mentioned numerous times already and it's going well. I may be able to get it out early next year. That would be nice. I've made quite a few music tracks for it over the year, too. You can listen to them... why, right here on Newgrounds! Woah! Talk about convenience!

I've been contemplating on whether I should get this thing Kickstarted or something... I do have a Patreon, but since the months went by after I started it, the numbers have sadly dwindled down. It's still nice, but it would also be nice to get more money thrown at this thing as A LOT of work has gone into and STILL needs to be done on it. But we'll see. Who knows. Not me.

In news that is not so usual from me, I've been working on a novel in my spare time since the middle of this year. I'm about half-done, and I believe a novel is supposed to be at least 50,000 words, and I think I'm at like 41,000 or something right now, so... getting there. Should be good. I'd like to get it published. Huh. What's it about, no one asked? Well, it's basically a comedy-adventure thing in the fantasy genre. That's about as specific as I'll be right now.

I've voiced in people's stuff! I always do! I was Roadblock in kalabor106's GI Joe: Laser Battle cartoon, Cooler in the fourth episode of Bocodamondo's Dragonball Multiverse, a crazy hobo in season 2 episode 5 of ThePivotXXD's Stu-Boy n Piv-Boy, and some characters in HadenCreate's The Condition and The Three Reapers - Part 1. More stuff to be in in probably all of these guys' future projects! They're quite great!

I drew. I draw. I've drawn many pictures this year, as always. I upload them everywhere! They're on my Website, DeviantArt, Tumblr, and right here! Always! You want a commission or something? Tell me! Tell me, please!

Does anyone even actually click on the links in these posts people make? I don't think I ever have, honestly.

Is that all? Uh... I think... no, I must be forgetting something... well, earlier this year, I was planning on making a comic, and I have its plot down as well as some of the character designs, but I couldn't really think of a place to put it if it ever actually happened, you know? Like, I'd want a consistent audience checking it out per week or however often I'd upload a new chapter, and I don't really have that right now I don't think... do I? I haven't tried, look, I don't know. Not now. Later I'll do it. But not now.

So uh... yeah, that's it. That was 2015. You know what? As much as I met so many horrible scum-sucking monsters this year, that is absolutely no different from every other year. Every year is like that. Why be upset? Some cool stuff happened this year, too! Either way, though, this is my 2015 year in review. I do these every year, so here it is. Bye.

It's been forever since I've released a video, so here you are.

Still working on the game, still working on a three-part cartoon, still drawing. Also been making lots of music lately which you can check out in my audio page, I guess. They're mainly for the game.

As the end of 2014 draws near, let me take a quick recap on what happened this year...

I put together my annual year in review video, Twisted2014 Year in Review, but if you don't feel like watching it, you can just read all this:

It began with the release of A-Hole in Time, a project written and voiced by RicePirate, while animated by me. A few months before then, I wrote the script for Magic Wand Infomercial, which finally saw the light of day about a month after the release of A-Hole in Time.

Afterwhich, we got Why Cops Give Tickets, which like Magic Wand Infomercial, was written a long time before its actual release. Later I wrote the script for An Animal Crossing Tale, which was released after 10 Amazing Life Hacks You've Never Seen!, a dumb live-action filler thing, in September.

A few weeks after the publication of An Animal Crossing Tale, I started a Patreon, and to my surprise, it's actually working out so far. I'm really thankful for all my amazing patrons, because thanks to them I no longer really have to do much commission work at all and I can focus my efforts on my own personal projects for my audience. Thank you, patrons!

After all that, no real animation projects have been in much production, however, Saminat came on over early December, and we put together Civil Unrest, probably my last ever live-action film. Maybe. We'll see. But most certainly yeah.

Since January 2014, I've been working on a game, which I've mentioned a couple times before. Progress is good, but there's a lot of stuff that needs to be done with it. Hopefully we'll see that released in less than a year from now. If you're interested in testing it or whatever, let me know, we'll see what happens from there. There's a breif clip of it in the year in review video, as well.

Oh, and just throwing it out there, this is my website, my YouTube channel, and my Tumblr. Yeah. More links for you.

So that's basically it for the year... what do I think of it, as a whole? Honestly, it was certainly a step up from that 2013 trainwreck, but I didn't find it amazing, either. Still though, if this trend continues... I am very excited for 2015! I'm curious to see what it will bring.

Also, a super duper thanks to Tom Fulp, for allowing us to all get our work out there on this awesome site. We all take our hat off to you, good sir.

Hope you all had a good year, and here's hoping for a magnificient 2015!

Well, hey there. It's me. Listen, just thought I'd utilize this holiday to tell those of you who follow me or care at all what's been going on recently, as well as some things I've had up that you may not have been aware of. But first, let me just start you all off with a throwback video, just for this spooky occasion: A Word On Halloween. Yeah, it's old and outdated now, but it's the only Halloween video I ever made, so there you go, deal with it.

Anyway...

First off, my number one personal project for a while has been a game. It's a 2-player fighter, which I would say is going pretty neat; so far there are three game modes:

  • Offline 2-player, which is the old-fashioned "two-people-on-one-keyboard" thing.
  • Single player, which has a fully-functioning AI for the player to fight.
  • LAN multiplayer, where you can actually fight someone on a different computer entirely.

I only got a couple of characters and special moves down so far, and I have quite a few more I have to implement, but so far I think it's going pretty good. Kinda iffy about what I'm going to do with it when it's done, I mean what I WANT to do is get it greenlit on Steam, but who doesn't? We get there when we get there, I guess. At some point when it's in its beta stages I will probably release something showing it, but so far I've basically just been showing my patrons what I have done so far. My patrons? Who are they? Well, that brings me to my next point...

I've recently started a Patreon, which, to my pleasant surprise, has so far actually been going pretty nicely for my standards, I think. Already it's been so helpful for me, I've been working extra hard on my projects (some of them are not my own and eat up quite some time), and soon I'll be able to merely work on my own personal stuff... FULL-THROTTLE. If you'd like to contribute, feel free to! There's a couple of little perks in it for you, as well. Thanks to all who donated so far either way, it means so much to me, you don't even know.

What else? ...Uh. I also have a website, Twisted4kStudios.weebly.com. Actually, I've had it for a long time, going under different names over the years (like no joke, I started it when I was in elementary school, lolololol). What's the point of the site? It's basically a spot where I dump all my stuff I make, and also I post a pretty decent amount of blogs, WIP screenshots, and more there. I need a domain name for it though, I just don't feel like paying for it. So you get the "Weebly" garbage thing at the end, oh well. Check it out if you'd like. Whatever.

So, that's been most of what's going on. There's been a series bumbling around in my head for the longest time, I have most of the actors all ready to voice, but I still haven't finished any of its scripts and haven't really gotten around to it as a whole. The game has mostly been what has been in the way, though. I'd like to finish that stupid thing as soon as possible...

Happy Halloween, assholes

Heyo everyone, you know those videos that all just copy each other and they show you little convenient tricks you can use throughout your day to make it a bit easier and they give it a really retarded name? Life Hacks, are they called? Well I made one of those! Well, a fake one. You'd have to be an idiot to think that it's real. But, then again, the majority of the population is pretty idiotic.

I basically just got new camera equipment and wanted to do something with it, and this is what we got. Also, I finally moved to Pennsylvania. I used to live in this general area years and years ago, and now that I just completed high school, I'm back. About a week or so ago I got a chance to visit the Newgrounds office and got to meet the great TomFulp and JohnnyUtah. They're pretty swell people. I plan on dropping by more often in the future.

Anyway, yes, I'm still doing animation stuff, I'm ALWAYS doing animation stuff. Hopefully soonish I should be uploading a cartoon here, but it may be a while, there's a couple that I need to get done.

And yes, the hat I'm wearing in that picture down there makes me look like I'm kinda drunk or something, but whelp what are ya gonna do

And it's done forever. Forever. I finished it. It's a weird feeling. Like, I don't feel super happy and relieved, I just feel like it's a little vacation and I'll have to go back to it in a few weeks... even though I know that's not the case, but hm.

But anyway, I'm moving back to my original location, Pennsylvania, this June 6th. That should be nice. I hope.

But that's that for now, still working on a game and like three videos.

Video I made, actually I wrote it like last August I think? But I finally had a little bit of time to actually make it a few weeks after I finished Magic Wand Infomercial.

You can watch on Newgrounds right here. You can also watch it on YouTube here.

I want to make a sort of longer video soon (oh what am I saying, I WANT to? No, I don't want to at all, but I want to FINISH one). Still thinking of a plot and such. There's also a LAN multiplayer fighting game I've been making for the past month or so, but it's still in really early stages so we'll see how that goes.

And a big thanks to Tom for the front-page and shoutout! Thank you so much, none of this would be possible without him.

Uploaded this here a few days ago, here it is on the glorious Newgrounds. And here it is on YouTube. Took maybe like a month or two of total time to make, but it was stretched out for almost half of a year due to other projects that were keeping me busy, such as A-Hole in Time, the one I did for RicePirate.

2014... it's uh... kind of off to a... start... to say the least... yeah, enjoy the film.
